JOHO

Speaking of local, I discover this one community called ‘JOHO’. At first I thought it’s just another local clothing brand since they first launched something like an introduction t-shirt but after lurking for details, JOHO is more than that. They’re a collective of young generation of Johor (a state on the south side of peninsular Malaysia) that created a platform to promote what is best originated from Johor. Be it arts, cultures, heritages, entrepreneurs, designs, sports, events or anything related. They even already have a concept store.

Personally, those people behind JOHO deserve a mad props. Who else going to bring up and support your local stuff if not the locals themselves? True? Yes, indeed. There’s nothing wrong to look up to the outside stuff but hey, give a way or much better give a support for your local stuff to move forward, to move up higher so the outsiders can see what we can come up with. JOHO is one of the example.
